AUGUST 8!!! DUE Date DAY!!!!

So I back posted this to August 8th even though it is June 2013 that I am typing this.  I made sure that I logged everything that was going on this day and from the transition of then and now I have changed phones and lost my log... So disapointed right now but I will try to remember what went on that day.....

5:30 am : I walked myself into the maternity Birth Center ... I was checked into one of the labor and delivery rooms and was given a gown to put on and get into bed to get all hooked up.  The room is small but al least I didn't have to share it with someone else.  The night shift nurse came in and tried to hook up my left arm to the IV but something just did not feel right.  I started to feel numbness and slight pain.  I asked if it was supposed to feel this way and they said that I shouldn't feel it at all.  Another nurse came in and told her that she should start another IV on my right... So now my left arm is sore and usless and my right is hooked up with the IV.  To me that was not a good sign to start off my morning.

8:00 am : Dr Milov walked in to do a quick run through of what was going to happen throughout the day.  He looked at my charts and said that I looked really good and that the baby's heartreate was good.  I didn't really need to get induced that day and could go home if I wanted... Meanwhile I was already in bed with the IV hooked up to me for the second time.  I was in complete shock because My husband and I were ready to have the baby... To throw a decision that I could go home and just come in to have the baby naturally was a curve ball to my plans.  Of course I would love to have the baby with out getting induced but we were already there and ready to go!  He gaves us some time to think it over and I did have a little break down because it was becoming all soooo real... We are having a baby today!

9:00 am : At this point the midwife Susie and her apprentice midwife Jasmine came.   They gave me the meds to induce the labor... This is a small pill that is inserted in the vaginal region and would slowly induce the labor process....

12:00 pm :  I started to feel minor contractions....

1:30 pm : The contractions were getting stronger and at this point I thought my water had broke.  I went to the bathroom and while I was in there my husband had changed the bed padding because it was wet but did not tell the nurse or myself about it so no one knew that it had broke.  Jasmine came in to check up on me and felt that there was no sack and said that my water broke!

2:30 pm :  The anestethiologist came in to give me my epidural... Let's face it... I'm not trying to be super woman.  At that point the contractions felt strong and were getting closer together...  It took about 2 contractions later that I did not feel major pain... I felt tugs but not ones were I felt knives were trying to punch their way out of my body!  I figured that I should rest up and try to take a nap because our world would change!

5:30 pm:  The midwife Jasmine came in to do her daily check up on me and asked how I was doing... I was very relaxed and as she was examining me she said that I was about ready to go... I'm thinking to myself... Really?  I think I was about 9cm diallated at that time....  The nurse came in to prep the tables and the heat lamp for baby... The mirror from the ceiling came down.. they adjusted the bed to the sturrips and low and behold my resting room turned into a delivery room!

5:45 pm :  Midwife Susie, Jasmine and the nurse were in the room to deliver baby boy... Husband was to the right of me gearing up to aid to my delivery....  At this point I felt the tugs from the contractions but honestly the nurse/ midwife had to tell me when to push.  We tried many techniques and the one that I found the best was to hold on the the bars on the side of the bed to pull myself to pushing if that makes any sense.. The grabbing of the towels was uncomfortable... the supports of my legs to my chest from the husband and midwife was awkward...

6:40 pm:  I saw Midwife Susie leave the room only to come back with Dr Milov.... At the beginning of the whole process I had asked a question about the midwives doing the delivery... They said that they do all of the deliveries but the Dr's come in for the emergencies and C-sections....  When I saw him my heart sank in some way but still thriving on the high of trying to push my little one to the world.

7:02 pm : My little boy has arrived!!!  Jasmine was the one to deliver my son with the assist of Dr Milov.  However my husband told me that Dr Milov deliverd our son and Jasmine assisted.  I heard one cry and then he stopped.. The nurse flashed him real quick before my eyes and brought him to the heating table.  About ten nurses came in to assist along with the NICU dr.  I was so overwhelmed by the experience and was wondering why there were so many people in my room!  Jasmine was working on me still to stitch me up.... and what seemed like a long time to me.... I saw Dr Milov jump in to help stitch me back together... He told me "sorry it took a while you ripped pretty bad and it's like a puzzle peice"...   Really!!!!  Meanwhile... Leo was getting hooked up to an oxygen breathalizer and my husband was talking to the NICU Dr.... and my precious little boy was whisked away to the NICU.....

I was told that Leo came out with his right hand up and the cord wrapped around his neck and arm.
I'm impressed at how well the staff acted and was able to make sure he had the attention he needed.
Born on 8.8.12 at 7 lbs .03 oz and 21 in long

8:00 pm:  I was moved to the recovery floor in a wheel chair of course... I was in semi pain and my belly just felt so weird!  It was still huge as though I was pregnant.

8:30 pm:  Family came to visit but I felt awful because we didn't have baby in the room with us...  He was in an incubater in the Nicu department and they only allowed the parents and one guest at a time to visit baby... My husband had to take each and everyone in to take a peek... I felt awkward because here I am in a room with no baby with me.  My mom, sister, her boyfriend, mother in law, father in law, younger brother in law, older brother in law, his wife and their son, their cousin and cousin brought a friend...too many people.. I think I would have felt better if my baby was with me... In the meanwhile I hear a baby crying in the next room over and they had the time to bond with their baby!

Holy Stretch Marks!!!!!

Well after continuously rubbing Palmer's Cocoa Butter on every part of my body... I was convinced that this will keep those pesty stretch marks away...
I went to a party and my friends asked if I was using any lotions and I told them that I do and that it has worked so far.  That same night my husband wanted to say hello to little baby and then he said "Stretch mark!"  I told him to stop kidding around then he had to take a picture of it because I didn't believe him....  It was under my belly that I didn't even see it!
This is the start of my 27th week... my belly is really tight and is very itchy.... but I just slab more cocoa butter and rub instead of scratching.... :(
The battle wounds have begun and scars are yet to be determined but it is one that I will take for this precious miracle growing in my belly....

I took my glucose test!

Cross my fingers that I passed...

I was watching what I ate in the past two days knowing that I was going to take the glucose test for gestational diabetes. Not sure if would do anything but that's just me and my thinking.

I was told that we can do this test between week 24 -28 weeks of pregnancy. I took mine at the midweek of my 24th week.

I had to drink 50 ml of this Fruit Punch drink within 5mins and wait an hour before they can take my blood... To be honest... I thought this drink was going to be awful but it was pretty good... I bit sweeter then the normanl drinks but none the less pretty good.

I got this tingling feeling afterwards though that I was on a complete sugar high!

So for you ladies going to take the test... that's what your going to expect....

Expecting my Little Prince Charming!

My Little Prince Charming is coming in August!

He's blowing bubbles!!!!

His First Foot Print!

It's A Boy!!!!

We had our Anatomy scan on March 21,2012 which was a long time coming and we found out that we are going to expect our Little Prince Charming!!!!!

He had ten fingers and toes and had a healthy beating heartbeat at 150 bpm.... The sound of the beat was so reassuring! Nothing like it.....

As far as trying to find out the cause of the lower left abdomin spasm.... they did notice that my left ovary was slightly larger and that they considered my body frame to be small.... (love them for saying that) the ovary must have pinched a nerve which caused the spasm.... I guess I'll buy that for now. I know I'm feeling better each day and know that baby boy is doing well and that is all I need to get by.... :)

A major scare

On Wed. 03.14.12 I've been having this major pressure on my lower left abdomen. The feeling was like cramping with no bleeding below the bellybutton... It almost felt like a pressure being pushed out from the inside... at points it's numbing and very very uncomfortable. I felt hot then I felt cold. I thought that I needed to eat something so I had a banana but couldn't hold that down. This would be the first throw up I have done since this pregnancy and I'm at 19 weeks and a few days. I called the doctor and my friend at work drove me there because I was in no condition to get there myself. I can not thank her enough for coming back to my office to check up on me. The pain was so excrutiating all along side my keft lower abdomen. My dr checked to see if the cervix was closed and it was and he heard the heartbeat but did not tell me what it was but said that I should go to the hospital.
My husband picked me up from the office and drove me to the hospital for an emergency check in. They stuck an IV in me gave me some meds and the pain in the lower left abdomen was getting far worse. It was like a muscle spasm of some sort that was spaced about 25 to 30 secs from each other. The doctor said that it could be many things like a round ligament pain, muscle contracting, fybroids, cyst. early contractions (but I was at only around 19 weeks....) I went in for an ultrasound to check but not just for baby. They said it was to check for something that I was so not paying attention because my mind was on the pain and baby. The scan came up fine so that was good. Baby was good too thank the heavens above!!! The heartbeat was 150 bpm. I told the Doctor when he came in that the spasms were 30 sec apart and he pulled a mini ultrasound machine in my room and saw the contractions.... He told me that it could be contractions but the cervix was closed and no bleeding.... I asked if this was a common thing that they see in the hospital and they said no. He had me stay over night and shot some pain relief in my IV fluids. I couldn't keep any food that I ate down.... What a nightmare.... Before I slept I had the nurse double check my little chickpeas heartbeat.... And it was still there but the pain still didn't go away... By morning I was much better still mnior throbbing spasms but I kept my breakfast down. So I was released. Had my pain meds filled at the pharmacy and I had to use it immediately because it came back.... the meds helped but I'm trying to not take it often.... (one... because of baby...two... because this drug is so powerful...) Hope I never get to experience this ever again.... nor will any of you.... The Cause? Still unsure.. but it's not as nearly as bad as it was on Wednesday morning... Till then ... my rest and then next week... an ultrasound to find out the sex of baby.... but I think I am 80% sure based on all of the u/s that were done on me....

Tail bone pain and pregnancy

A few days ago I had a mild pain at my tailbone area. It would be discomforting to bend/ sit in certain ways. I really didn't think much of it and thought that in a few days it would pass... Until last night. Every time I would move around in bed my tailbone was so painful and getting out of bed to make my pregnancy bathroom trips was dreadful. Today... the pain has worsened and was told that during pregnancy as the uterus grows there would be some added pressure that would possible effect that area. I just happened to be the lucky one to get that pain... I was doing research and found that it is very common in pregnancy and is also known as Coccydynia. The pregnancy tailbone pain becomes more prominent usually during the second and third trimester. This is one pain that my pregnant friends did not tell me about nor did I know that it was probably to be expected. Hoping that this pain would not last throughout this pregnancy. I would love to enjoy being a pregnant lady without this added pain. But as long as this does not effect the baby (which they said it would not) then so be it and I will fight on through.

12 week ultrasound scan!

My little Chickpea!

This was a successful trip to the hospital for the NT scan at 12 weeks for little baby. NT scan stands for Nuchal Translucency which helps to identify any risks of chromosomal defects including Downs Syndrome in a fetus. The scans are usually taken during the 11-14 weeks of pregnancy. They look for the thickness of soft tissue at the nape of the neck of the fetus. My results are half complete because I still have to go in for a blood draw so that they can compare the notes from both tests. So far the the ultrasound looks perfect! I could not tell you how relieved I was to hear just that. I was able to see the little chickpea swallow, move the tiny hands, wiggle.... It was amazing and my husband got to share the moment with me...

I heard my baby's heartbeat for the first time!

I had my normal check up the other day to make sure that my levels are where they need to be. Doctor B came in and told me that all of my blood test results came in perfect. My Progesterone is at 19.5 which is great. He then took out the Doppler machine to hear the heartbeat! I didn't know what to expect. Then he found the healthy beat of 177 beats/min
The beat was so clear and was so unreal but it's there! I loved every single beat and wished I had recorded the sound to hear it over and over again. I think I'll do that at the next visit.
I also went ahead and agreed to do the Sequential screening for Down Syndrome. So I'm just waiting for the hospital to call me to make the appointment. At that time I'm hoping to have a clear ultrasound picture of my little growing bean....
